Crime Does Not Pay
In the last month or two, Rhys has had the habit of grabbing food off of other peoples' plates. We've tried to discourage him by very nice means -- stopping him and explaining that everyone has their own food and if he wants to taste someone else's, he should ask.
Tonight, we went out for sushi.
Neither Vicki nor I was quite paying attention, towards the end of the meal.
I didn't quite realize what he had grabbed 'til it was in his mouth.
I did make him put most of the lump of wasabi down, but he had taken a substantial little nibble by that point.
After a few minutes, the waitress managed to get him to stop crying by giving him a couple cherries. But after he'd eaten them, he took another look at Vicki's plate and started crying again.
Stronger cheering-up measures were needed. Some of them involved ice cream.
Poor kid ... but we told him and told him that it was a bad idea to grab food off other peoples' plates.
