Two steps forward, one step back.

Forward: Rhys has take a whole meal of bottled beetiger-milk from me, and seem pretty happy and
even eager about it. I do have to strip to do this, 'cause
his way of recognizing that it's mealtime is being put near
a naked chest and smelling milk. I will gladly strip to
feed my son, if I need to.
Forward: Rhys has a Kick-and-Play: a bouncy chair with an arch over it, and two footpads. When he kicks the footpads, the arch flashes lights and plays bits of music. Last week, Rhys would sort of thrash and wriggle, and occasionally get bits of music. Yesterday and today -- he would kick a pad 'til the music came, usually one kick or two. When the music comes he giggles or coos at it, and stops kicking until it finishes. And he keeps doing it, and doing it, and doing it, for a good twenty minutes -- which is a very very long time by baby play time! Rhys is learning something about cause and effect, and something about how those odd things on the far end of his body can be used to do things sometimes. These lessons will serve him well later in life, and we are very glad to see them. We're even more glad to see him having fun.
Backward: Cranky day. Rhys has fussed and complained when in arms, and cried when set down to do anything on his own. Why? No clue. What can we do about it? No clue. Suggestions or encouragment or other commentary welcome on this one...
