Preverbal Rules Lawyer

Rhys is so my son. He can't even say two dozen words yet, and he's already a rules lawyer.
We've been having a disagreement about his stereo. He likes playing They Might Be Giants at top volume, and we have been trying to get him to play it much softer. We communicate our displeasure by frowning and such when it's too loud, and dancing and singing with him when it's at a nice volume.
So, today ... he turned it up to full volume, and got the displeasures. Then he turned it down a teeny little hair, and looked at us and grin-grin-GRINned, as if to say, "See! It's quieter! You must be happy now!"
We are so doomed.
