Rhys can read!
Sep. 23rd, 2005 01:47 pmRhys has enjoyed letters for the last few months -- he can say the alphabet, and recognize letters in majescule and miniscule, and has recently been learning their pronunciations. We've been playing drawing+word games with him -- drawing a cat and writing "CAT" under it and saying, "C-A-T spells cat" and like that.
He also enjoys whacking on computer keyboards, especially
when beetiger is sitting with him. She was
IMming me at work, and Rhys evidently climbed into her lap
and started swatting the keyboard. I could tell 'cause
Vicki doesn't usually say " nn rg er d323c1des3`sd
dcc`w`s``x sws x" unless I'm being 'specially nice to her,
and I don't do that at work.
So I wrote CAT in big letters in the IM.
Vicki:Rhys read cat!
So I sent off CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT
Vicki:Five cat!
He can evidently read RHYS and DADDY too. And count to five.
He'll be two years old in about three weeks.
Boggle.
