Expertise and Excuses

Rhys is four. Oh, so very, very four...

Rhys:"I'm an expert on everything!"

Vicki:"OK. How do you make soda?"

Rhys:"I'm an expert on everything, except drinks."

Vicki:"OK, how do you make ice cream?"

Rhys:"I'm an expert on everything except food and drink."

Vicki:(Explains briefly)

And, after a while, when we had managed to get him to bed, he popped out of his room with a rather creative excuse:

Rhys:"I had to get up because I didn't say 'Thank you for the information!'"

Vicki:"OK, say it"

Rhys:[With bright sincerity] "Thanks for the information!"

Vicki:"You're welcome. Now go back to bed."
