9 years ago there weren't any Ipods. there are electronic fast energy "feet". Some trains use magnets. You can swallow a camera. There is laser surgery. There is a 3-D printer.

They are also developing 'exoskeletons' that help people lift things for carrying long loads places, like for soldiers and stuff! And exoskeletons that let people whose legs don't work walk. Those are some things I think are really neat!

I'm not sure how I feel about laser surgery. I mean, it seems like there's much more scope for things to go horribly wrong than with a knife.

And the iPod was introduced in October, 2001, which was ten years ago. 8)

Sometimes, books are wrong. I know it's shocking, but it's true.

However, I suspect something else is at work, here. Get your mom or dad to show you where to look to find out when your book was published. If you look at the publication date, and subtract nine years, I suspect that you'll find they're referencing a time before 2001!
