Kids read the darnedest things, part #743
Jul. 4th, 2006 02:05 pmRhys is reading a lot now. He especially loves to read things like road signs and labels on things in stores. We ended up bopping around a little Asian grocery today, one of those places with dozens of varieties of fruits and vegetables, all meticulously labeled. Lately, when he doesn't know a word, sometimes he'll try to sound it out and make a guess. "Red Globe Grapes" became "Red Gobble Grapes", which I thought was a pretty good guess. But I almost fell down in the aisle when Rhys declared to me: "Look, it's fugly apples!". (They were Fuji apples.)
